VAR officials Darren England and Dan Cook have been stood down from their remaining Premier League duties this weekend following the "error" in Liverpool's controversial defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Initially, England was set to be in the VAR control room for Liverpool's clash, with Cook as his assistant, before being the fourth official for Nottingham Forest's encounter with Brentford on Sunday. The Colombian raced behind the Tottenahm backline after 34 minutes, firing past Vicario to hand Liverpool the lead - just minutes after Curtis Jones' red card saw them reduced to 10 men.
After Diogo Jota was sent off for a second yellow card, the Reds would go on to dramatically lose 2-1 with Matip scoring an own-goal in the dying moments. In light of the defeat, the PGMOL acknowledged there was "significant human error" in ruling out Diaz's first-half strike.
