There was a further confrontation
Two men have admitted their roles in a serious assault in a Nottinghamshire town. Officers were called to Newcastle Street, Worksop, following reports a man had been attacked at a bus stop.
The 22-year-old victim was attacked at around 6pm on Christmas Day, and needed hospital treatment. Defendants Brogan Bown, 24, and Wayne Maxwell, 34, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to assault, causing bodily harm, on December 25 last year, after leaving the man with minor injuries. Bown, of Gateford Road, Worksop, remains on bail, and Maxwell, of Yeoman Close, Worksop, is remanded in custody until sentencing on September 27. The court heard there were two parts to the incident.
These two defendants assaulted the man outside a shop, causing minor injuries. The victim chased them down the street, leading to a further confrontation, the court heard. But he remembers nothing of that night and has made it clear he does not wish to be part of the court proceedings.
