Southern Sound Hospital Radio is run solely by volunteers and is funded by donations to broadcast 24/7 to patients in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
A radio station based in Glasgow's biggest hospital is on the lookout for new volunteers to help keep patients entertained.
The station, which has been running for over 50 years, provides a vital source of company for patients who don't get visitors and allows them to hear their names and dedications over the airwaves. Volunteers are wanted to visit the wards and take requests from the patients on what they want to hear. Anyone interested would only have to commit to a couple of hours a month and full training will be provided. Anyone with time to spare and who wants to be involved is asked to visit http://www.southernsound.org.uk or email [email protected] for more details.Son pays tribute to Haghill dad with a 'heart of gold' after death in Glasgow flatGlasgow GP surgery forced to issue warning after staff are abused by 'frustrated' patients
