The incident was reported on Monday morning in the Annalong Valley area.
A person has been rescued by the Mourne Mountain Rescue Team following a "crush injury" suffered on Monday morning while on a mountain in the Annalong Valley.The injury was reported to police at around 10.10am on Monday."At 1010hrs this morning the team received a request via Police to an individual who suffered a crush injury while walking," a post on the MMRT Facebook page read.
"Alongside requesting Ambulance support, the team responded to the Annalong Valley where the casualty had suffered a serious lower limb injury as a result of a falling boulder. "Once reached, the casualty was treated and immobilised before a stretcher evacuation to team vehicle. "After a short transfer, the casualty was passed to Ambulance Service for further treatment and onward transfer to Hospital."Thanks again to Northern Ireland Ambulance Service HART & Crew in attendance.""The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 10:37 on Monday 8 May following reports of an incident in the Head Road area of Annalong," the spokesperson said.
