Blackpool Coastal Housing expands warm welcome Community Hubs
A Blackpool business launched a Warm Welcome Community Hub at the beginning of November in a bid to support the local community and stay warm.
More community hubs are expected to be launched in January. Each Monday in November, Aysgarth Court Community Centre opened its doors to as many local residents as possible, welcoming them with a warm cooked meal, unlimited brews and refreshments, whilst providing a comfortable environment to play games or just sit and chat. The first event saw more than 30 residents turn up between 11am and 3pm to take advantage of what was on offer.
BCH is keen to expand on this success and will launch more Community Hubs at the start of the New Year with local residents invited to “keep cosy and chat” while enjoying hot food, refreshments and the opportunity to win raffle prizes in a homely setting for a suggested £1 donation.
