The Environment Agency is investigating the 'potential pollution incident' at Prestwich Clough
People are being urged to avoid a popular beauty spot after a landslide caused raw sewage to be released into a stream.
Several trees were uprooted as a result of the landslide, United Utilities said. The incident happened on the same day a huge sinkhole opened up a short distance away in Heywood Road, Prestwich.Coun Alan Quinn, Bury council's cabinet member for the environment, climate change and operations, said the two incidents were 'the effect of climate change'.
