It is hoped the measure will reduce congestion and air pollution.
Head teacher Suki Edwards said she hoped the trial would help improve safety, air quality and encourage more families to walk, scoot or cycle to schoolA traffic-free zone is to be set up around a school in a trial aimed at making streets safer for children.
It will see vehicles, other than those belonging to local residents, banned during the school's start and finish times. School Streets schemes are already in place outside schools in areas across the UK and aim reduce traffic and make it safer for children crossing the road. During the pilot scheme at Eastlands Primary School, from 6 November, Lansdowne Place will be closed to all non-residential traffic during term time, Monday through to Friday from 08:15 to 09:15 and from 14:30 to 15:30.
