Police have sealed off the area around the sports complex
This is the current scene in Omagh, Co Tyrone this evening as police investigate the shooting of a fellow serving PSNI officer.It is understood the officer had been coaching a youth football team. Local sources have indicated that around 70 people were in the sports complex at the time of the shooting.Police have confirmed in a statement that the officer has been taken to hospital but have not confirmed his condition as yet.
A spokesperson said: "One man, a serving police officer, has been taken to hospital for treatment after being injured in a shooting incident at a sports complex just before 8pm this evening.Local sources have indicated that around 70 people were in the sports complex at the time of the shooting.Video credit: Ulster Herald
