Scottish Water has issued an apology after thousands were left without water on Christmas
Customers impacted by a loss of water in parts of Scotland are now back in supply after an "operational issue" cut provisions to thousands of homes on Christmas Day.
Most households were back in supply within hours on Sunday, but some were impacted for longer due to inconsistent pressure in parts of the water network. While these water problems were not a result of weather, the recent cold snap has caused many Scottish homes to experience frozen and burst pipes. "Our teams worked round the clock from Christmas Day until today to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and can inform customers that this issue is now resolved with households and businesses back in supply.
