It's just not going in the right direction
Each week, we do a big shop for essentials at six main supermarkets to compare prices - this week, we found prices have exceeded double figures for the same basket, making for a 'worry trend.'
This week, for the first time since the news site reported the bill for every supermarket has now broken £10. When they first began, not one of them had reached that double figure, reports M.E.N.The eight common items included in the weekly shop are: a two-pint bottle of milk, a loaf of bread, coffee, teabags, butter, baked beans, chicken breasts and mince.
Lidl remains the cheapest of the lot at £10.01 and is followed closely by Asda at £10.02 and Aldi at £10.14.
