There's one curry sauce that was held at a very high standard
Curries are loved nationwide. Whether it’s a chicken tikka or a beef madras, a classic curry remains one of the nation's favourite dishes behind the likes of fish and chips and a Sunday roast. Going out for a curry can be a real treat and of course, getting one to eat in can be even better in the comfort of your own home, slumped on the sofa with a good film on.
Patak's The much-loved branded sauce was a ‘familiar’ flavour to Emily and ‘pleasant.’ It was a ‘warming tomato-based sauce, medium spiced but it wasn’t too overpowering and there was a slight kick'. Lidl Next up was Lidl, which cost £1.55 for a 360g jar. It came with a little pot of Indian spices in the lid to season your meat or veg with, which I thought was a great idea.
The texture was thicker and seemed more authentic; Patak's looked gloopy in comparison. The flavour was tangy and delicious - not too spicy, just a lovely blend of warming spices. Marks might have scored top if it wasn't for the price. We rated this one a 4/5.
