They weren't grrrreat 🐯
The advert for Frosties will forever be etched in my brain, more specifically the sound of Tony the Tiger's signature line 'They're grrreat!".
On a mission to make another supermarket swap, I visited my local Asda, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Lidl and Aldi. Picking up only the supermarket's own branded box, I headed home with a boot full of the off brand cereal ready to take on another taste test. This bowl of Frosted Flakes is like the cheap, super artificial bubble gum you'd buy from the corner shop. The kind that reels you in with an instant burst of sugary goodness only to die down three chews in.
The overall taste wasn't out of this world amazing but it also wasn't a never eating this again type taste. Milk is probably the saving grace here. As I fed myself more spoonful's of the cereal, I wondered if kids would ever be this picky to notice that the cereal was actually more like cornflakes than it was Frosties. To me, Frosties are thinner and sweeter than cornflakes but the was something about the texture and especially the flavourless aftertaste that reminded me of the less exciting sister cereal.This cereal was about as mundane as a Wednesday.
