The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust are calling for fans to protest a rise in ticket prices before Saturday's game vs Manchester United
Tim SpiersSpurs fans return home tomorrow for the team’s first competitive match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 92 days.
Despite how big a financial commitment is required to take up a season ticket at Spurs, the price freeze was certainly welcome.Spurs said that, while they were not immune to rising costs and higher energy prices, they were also “acutely aware that everyone is also currently impacted by the rising cost of living” and so decided to freeze prices to reflect the ongoing commitment their supporters continue to make.
Martin Buhagiar is chair of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust, which has been vocal on the price rises. Would Spurs care about losing future fans because of what attending a game will cost? Ultimately, they will sell out the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium week after week. Every game was a sell-out last year despite it being the worst season for a decade and a half.
“I remember, in 2001, Daniel Levy saying young supporters are the lifeblood, they’re the future. And we’ve got to encourage more young supporters to come in.
