We tried the luxury Eden Tea Room with its own gorgeous art gallery and were blown away
If art, pottery and prosecco are what float your boat, you could do a lot worse than head down to a gorgeous art complex and eatery in Newburgh.
An absolute array of succulent cakes is on display behind the counter, and since the area behind is open, you can see your food being prepared. The whole venue has an ambience of relaxation, serenity and calm. Vowing, as has rather become my habit, to ‘only eat half’, I take one delicious bite out of one of the two huge wedges on the plate. It’s savoury, delicious, warm and succulent - so I instantly abandon all pretensions of doing things by halves, wolfing down the whole lot.
“It’s a very well known site for that reason. I’m a ceramicist by trade, and have a background of art. I thought I would join forces with the tea room and found this complex. Tea room manager Danielle Doran says the quietness of the venue, plus the fact that Newburgh is ‘in the middle of nowhere’ are what makes them unique. She says: “There's nothing quite like this locally around the area, with the gallery downstairs, and the sofas and the art workshops. I think our customers enjoy it and what they enjoy is that they can see everything. with it being an open kitchen.
