Award-winning Darwen wedding venue up for sale for £1.25m as husband-and-wife owners turn to new venture
The sale listing for the hotel on specialist agents Christie & Co states: "Originally a mill owners house dating back to 1898, thewas converted in 1968, and has only had three owners. This popular wedding venue, which prior to Covid undertook 70 plus weddings annually, would be an ideal addition to an operator looking to expand their portfolio. It could also appeal to an owner-operator as it has attractive owners accommodation on site.
Since then, the hotel has undergone a significant refurbishment and restoration programme and as a result profits have increased year on year . Whilst they continue to enjoy the business, they feel that this is the right time to pursue an alternative venture, hence their decision to sell."They recently built up a successful gin distillery operation from the hotel, securing contracts with football clubs such as Blackburn Rovers.
