Wetherspoons is altering its opening hours for the Coronation
Wetherspoons is changing its opening hours in all 800 pubs. It's good news for customers, who were recently left asking 'what the hell is this?' after the pub chain made a change to its iconic menu, which rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way.
The change in opening hours will give pub-goers an extra two hours of drinking. There's just one small, unfortunate catch - it's only in place for for the King's Coronation. The opening hours will only be extended over the next Bank Holiday weekend, which is taking place between Friday May 5 and Sunday May 7. Over this weekend, Spoons venues will be able to serve alcohol until 1am, two hours later than the normal 11pm.
Wetherspoons is not the only pub chain to take advantage of the more relaxed licensing rules. Chains Greene King and Fullers have said that some of their pubs will also be extending their opening hours for the occasion, says the Mirror.
