“Otherwise she doesn’t have any options, she can’t leave the country. I am sure there must be hundreds in a similar situation – they have their passports in the embassy but there’s no one there to hand them back to them.People in Sudan face a harrowing search for safety following ten days of explosions, gunfire and fighting which has left hundreds dead and thousands injured. There are reports armed fighters are now looting shops and homes.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office was approached for comment on questions about Sudanese nationals with UK visas. But up to 4,000 British nationals remain in the country, around 2,000 of whom have registered for daily updates ahead of possible evacuation efforts.
