From the moment the first snowflake falls, all hopes rest on millions more following to create that perfect sled run. And once enough snow has settled, it is time to dig out the sled from the loft, wrap up warm and head out to one of Lancashire's hills to enjoy a sledge ride safely.

Beacon Fell Country Park The summit at this 110 hectare park in Goosnargh is 266 metres above sea level and offers one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Lancashire. You can see for miles over the Forest of Bowland and across Morecambe Bay. Pendle Hill This famous hill could well be the first thought for families, who flock to one of the highest and longest slopes in the county when snow falls. However, that does mean it can become extremely busy but if you're willing to brave the crowds, then you'll be rewarded with magnificent views of a snow-covered Ribble Valley.
