Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group finally saw their search for minority investment reach a conclusion on Thursday.
Cornwell, a founding partner of PJT Partners, is a former Morgan Stanley executive, with the investment bank, along with Goldman Sachs, aiding FSG with the transaction.
