More industrial action is on the cards at the start of the new year with junior doctors and teachers likely to join the growing list of professions going on strike. We take a look at which sectors will be affected by walkouts and when ⤵️

Sally GuyoncourtThe last few months of 2022 saw a raft of walkouts by rail, postal and health workers and 2023 looks set to continue in the same vein.

This follows three strikes over the last month which involved some front-line operational staff, some in regional operations centres and on-road traffic officers., who are member of the PCS, have already held a series of strikes in December are more are now planned for January. This month they will walk out in a dispute over pay, pensions, job security and redundancy terms on and 3-6 and 9-13 January.are being balloted for industrial action on 9 January. The British Medical Association , the union for doctors, says it wants the Government to restore the pay of junior doctors to 2008-09 levels.Two days of strike action by nurses were held in England, Northern Ireland and Wales on 15 and 20 December.
