Manchester United have played Premier League sides Burnley and Everton in early-season friendly games.

Manchester United have endured a challenging start to the Premier League season, but Erik ten Hag and his men continue to work hard behind-the-scenes in an attempt to boost their fortunes.

A youthful side were defeated 3-0 by Premier League newcomers Burnley at Carrington on Wednesday afternoon. Behind-closed-doors friendly outings against Burnley and Everton have now handed them that opportunity.

In the Burnley game on Wednesday afternoon, a youthful United group were beaten 3-0 with Martial, McTominay and Donny van de Beek among those to feature. Eight of the 15 players used had never appeared for the first-team, while Burnley fielded two separate XIs.
