Everton are facing a huge punishment after the Premier League recommended a record-breaking punishment for allegedly breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules
Everton could face a record-breaking 12-point deduction as the Premier League recommends a harsh punishment for allegedly breaking Financial Fair Play rules.
Everton insists they've followed the rules and will "robustly defend" their position. They'll argue that exemptions, including those related to Covid, are responsible for their losses, with the club reported to be confident this will satisfy the independent commission. However, the Premier League wants a harsh punishment for the Goodison Park club, who are in the midst of a takeover saga. American company 777 Partners is buying Farhad Moshiri's 94 per cent stake in the club. According to the Mirror, the takeover will proceed as planned.
