Mohamed Salah's contract talks with Liverpool, back in 2022, are the subject of a case study at Harvard
The Egyptian has starred for Jurgen Klopp’s side since arriving at Anfield in 2017, helping them win six major honours along the way, including the Premier League and Champions League. In 312 games for the Reds, Salah has clocked up 273 goal involvements but it appeared that he was at a crossroads in the summer of 2022.
And it has now been revealed that Harvard Business School was given behind the scenes access to Salah’s negotiations with the club, which eventually resulted in the talisman signing a new deal until 2025 and becoming the Reds' highest-ever paid player. A snippet of the study has shown the difficulties in the contract talks and the trust that Salah placed in his advisor Ramy Abbas Issa.
From Salah’s perspective, it is clear that the Liverpool forward has complete faith in his agent to make the right decision: “We are partners. I know he will always do what is best for me.”
