Wilko has extended it 'closing down' sale a week after collapsing into administration as no new buyer for the chain has yet been found. More than 400 shops are at risk of closure with 12,500 people facing redundancy.
The sale prices are on top of te administration sale already in place with new prices rolled out from Friday. New discounts now in place include GMB, which has met the company and its administrators as part of the consultation process, indicated that a deal could be struck. Andy Prendergast, GMB national secretary, said: “We can confirm there have been expressions of interest from organisations who are considering taking over at least some parts of the business.
