Alongside the King and Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales will play a key role in the return of Royal tours as a two year blitz 'to keep Commonwealth intact' is expected
The King and Queen, as well as other senior members of the Royal Family including the Prince and Princess of Wales, are said to be readying themselves for two years of worldwide tours in a bid "to keep Commonwealth intact", in a "soft democracy" blitz.
The couple's last trip was to the Caribbean and was met with criticism so soon after Barbados had removed the late Queen as their head of state and became a republic. Even though Kenya does not recognise the monarch as head of state it is thought to be an important part of the Commonwealth and was famously where Princess Elizabeth was in 1952 when she found out she had succeeded her father, King George VI.
It is as of yet unconfirmed whether Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will join their parents on any of the tours as they will be at school. He has also raised the importance of visiting the 14 other nations and approaching any visits to the Caribbean with sensitivity owing to ongoing decisions about wanting independence.
