WINDSURFER Emma Wilson rued a disappointing final day after being forced to settle for bronze at the Allianz Sailing World Championships.
Emma Wilson finished in third place at the Allianz Sailing World Championships
The Nottingham ace was among the favourites in the iQFOiL classification in The Hague and entered the event’s closing stages well placed to claim either gold or silver.“It was a long week,” she said. “It was pretty physical and I think I sailed really well. “I guess when you’re winning all week - and all year I’ve been at the top - I knew I could win. I wanted to win, but I think I need a bit of time to reflect and then I’ll know what went wrong.”
And having competed in Tokyo two years ago, Wilson is now bidding for a return to the biggest stage of all.“I want to go and try to do my best. I’m going to have two weeks off now and make a plan, make a good plan, and then go to power for Paris.
