Tina Thomas, 44, was engulfed and nearly swept out to sea by the crashing wave as she sat on her scooter next to her husband Ashley and their dog Apollo.

Tina Thomas, 44, was out with her husband Ashley and dog Apollo while walking along Swansea Marina on Friday when water flooded over the walkway.

’ Tina and Ashley both wanted to thank the people who helped them – including three off-duty doctors who happened to be at the scene. Tina has functional neurological disorder, or FND, and her and her husband’s mobility scooters were damaged by the wave. She said: ‘I’m paying for it monthly, but overall it’s going to cost about £5,000. ‘My husband’s cost about two and a half grand in total. It’s quite expensive.
