The body of Co Tyrone man Robert Wilkin, also known as Robin Wilkin, was recovered from the water beside Slieve Liag in Donegal on July 3.
The woman who has been arrested in connection with the incident is currently being held at a garda station in Co Donegal under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. A Garda officer informed the court he had arrested Vial in Ballyshannon Garda Station earlier on Friday and charged him with the murder, and that after being charged and cautioned, Vial made no reply.
Hours before his death, Wilkin was last seen in public enjoying live music at Mac’s Bar in Dunkineely with two people. Gardai have been studying CCTV from inside the bar and believe the pair may hold vital clues on the victim's last movements.
