BREAKING: Woman arrested on suspicion of murder after death of 88-year-old man at assisted living complex in Banbury
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of an 88-year-old man at an assisted living complex in Oxfordshire, police have said.
The elderly man was reported dead at his home in School Lane, Banbury at 7.26pm on Monday, according to Thames Valley Police."Following our initial enquiries, a 53-year-old woman from Northamptonshire was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder. She is currently in police custody at this time," a force spokesman said.
"We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation and our enquiries thus far indicate there is no threat to the wider community. "The victim's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers at this difficult time." A crime scene will remain in place over the coming days for forensic inquiries to take place, they added.
