A woman has died after a blaze ripped through a block of flats in Renfrewshire.
Emergency services were called to Belmont Road in the Gallowhill area of Paisley after the alarm was raised at around 10.40pm on Thursday. Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said six vehicles and two aerial rescue platforms were sent to the two-storey building, where crews extinguished the"well-developed fire".A force spokesperson appealed for information about the blaze, adding:"Officers remain in attendance and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."Photos taken at the scene showed the blaze across the building's roof as smoke billowed into the sky.
