A woman has died after a horrific two-vehicle crash in Lanarkshire. Tamara Jones, 42, was driving along the A70, on Ayr Road, when her red Corsa was involved in a collision with a white Polo.
The incident took place near Rigside at around 12.30pm on Saturday August 5. Emergency services attended and she was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.The driver of the Polo, a 54-year-old man, was taken to Wishaw General Hospital for treatment.Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the fatal crash.
Police Sergeant Gemma Blackadder for the Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with Tamara's family and friends. “Our inquiries are continuing into the crash are continuing. I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.“The road was closed for approximately six hours to allow investigations to be carried out. I want to thank members of the public for their patience while we investigated this serious collision.
