A woman suffered leg injuries after she was forced to leap from a window to escape an arson attack on her own home. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) extinguished the fire before it spread to neighbouring properties.

But significant damage was caused to the front door of the property in Lisburn and police said the attack ‘had the potential to cause serious harm’. A police spokesperson said: ‘Shortly after 10.20pm a house fire was reported in Millbrook Walk. It was reported that a woman in the property had jumped out of the window to escape the blaze, causing leg injuries.
