Neighbourhood officers were patrolling the town centre on Monday evening (August 21)
A woman was reportedly harassed in Bolton town centre before a man was arrested by police on suspicion of making threats to kill.They arrived and arrested a male on suspicion of making threats to kill and assault, as CCTV enquiries were also carried out as part of investigations into the incident.Shortly after, a reported wanted man was spotted in the Farnworth area, with officers making an arrest on suspicion of breach of a court order.
As part of the night of activity, suspicious vehicles were also stopped in areas known to have 'problems with criminality' and performed a number of welfare checks. Sergeant David Keir, from GMP’s Bolton district, said: “Our neighbourhood officers are there to serve the Bolton community and they will do whatever they can, whenever they can, to achieve that purpose.
“Neighbourhood officers deal with all manner of topics and in Bolton, they are keen to crack down on the issues that matter most to you. In just a couple of hours, we can deal with anything under the sun. And that is exactly what we are there for. "We want to keep the community as safe as possible and that could be through any manner of policing. Whether it’s a simple chat or getting out and arresting wanted people, we are determined to crack down on criminality."
