Emergency services raced to Niddrie Mains Road in the capital after she was hit by a van at around 10.15am on Thursday.

Ambulance crews attended and the woman was taken to hospital for treatment. Her condition is currently unknown.The road was closed for a short time, reopening just before 11am. Officers have confirmed their enquiries are ongoing.

Top news stories today A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Niddrie Mains Road, Edinburgh, shortly before 10.15am on Thursday, October 26, 2023 following a crash involving a female pedestrian and a van. “The woman was taken to hospital for treatment. The road was closed while emergency services attended and reopened just before 11am. Enquiries into the crash are ongoing.”
