Prosecutors allege that four men, two on motorbikes and two in cars, were racing before a collision at a roundabout.
A woman thought she had got in the way of "filming for Top Gear" after vehicles allegedly sped past her before a fatal collision, a court heard. Asad Rashid, who was riding a Suzuki motorbike, died in the crash on September 15, 2020.
A delivery told how the four vehicles were spaced out at the set of traffic lights. Mr McNally said: “The delivery driver could hear the revving engines. As the lights changed from red to red amber, the four vehicles pulled away immediately from the lights at speed. All four had moved off from the lights before they had even turned to green.”
Mr McNally said: "She stopped to see if she could help and saw a motorcyclist who had an injury to his leg. The motorcyclist was Mr Taj, the Prosecution allege. He said to her: 'Get him out from under the car.'" Emergency services raced to the scene and were able to pull Mr Rashid from underneath the Audi RS3. He was given treatment but was pronounced dead at 10.52pm, the court heard.
