She'd been drinking
A 29-year-old woman who 'trashed' the reception area of a Premier Inn vowed in court: "I won't break the law again." Sabrina Winfield addressed magistrates as they handed her a 12-month conditional discharge over the criminal damage she inflicted at the Castle Bridge Road hotel on Castle Marina, Nottingham.
The incident was captured on CCTV and then photographed by police. In a prepared statement, Winfield admitted she caused the damage. However, she blamed her drinking, and believed her actions were as a result of her psychosis and voices in her head which were controlling her.Winfield has 11 previous convictions for 34 offences, and remains subject to an alcohol treatment requirement from a previous court sentencing.
