England's Lionesses have already made history by making it to their first ever Women's World Cup final but they are now 90 minutes from making even more history
England will take on Spain at 11am BST in their first ever Women's World Cup final.
The Lionesses have made it through the tournament unbeaten and will face Jorge Vilda's side to get their hands on the much-wanted World Cup trophy. Whoever wins this 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup will go down in history as a brand new winner. Neither of these teams have reached a final before, let alone won one, with only four previous winners since the inaugural tournament in 1991.
Sarina Wiegman in her pre-match press conference unsurprisingly gave nothing away when it came to the media asking if Lauren James would be back in the fold. The England manager also expressed how incredible the support from English fans had been: “We’ve felt the support here, but also from the other side of the world in the UK. That is something you dream of.“
