West Lothian Council looks to protect the long term future of the Livingston theatre as a home for Firefly Arts
Work starts this month to secure the future of Livingston’s Howden Park Centre theatre for the next decade.
Important to securing the lease will be the guarantee that the theatre should be financially self-sufficient and commercially viable in the future. All future bids and supporting information will be considered by the council and recommendations will be brought back to Council Executive for a decision.
Following that work, it was agreed that Reconnect – the registered charity SCIO which currently operates the Regal Theatre in Bathgate – would take on the operation of Howden Park Centre as a theatre and arts venue, and as the permanent base for Firefly Arts, up to March 31, 2024.
