Work is currently underway at the former Eglantine Bar on the Malone Road ahead of its expected reopened under new owners this year.
with the venue having been first designed back in 1898 by the same architects as the iconic Crown Bar.The new owners are planning a £500,000 refurbishment of the venue this year and will create 30 new jobs when construction is complete. On announcing the purchase of the bar last year, that had been rumoured to have almost been taken over by British pub chain JD Wetherspoons, it was revealed that the bar’s focus will be on showing a range of sporting events blended with a great food offering.
