Australia has become the first team participating in the Qatar World Cup to openly criticise their human rights record. Alex Baker, president of the International Gay and Lesbian Football Association, tells JackieLongc4 “it is a positive thing”.

Australia has become the first football team participating in next month’s World Cup to openly criticise Qatar’s human rights record. In a video message, several players from the men’s team voiced their opposition to the country’s treatment of migrant workers and the LGBTQ+ community.He’s a referee and also chairs Stonewall FC, the London based LGBT Plus football club.
