Blackpool to get world's first 'fish and chips hotel' with free food - but you can't sleep there
It is no secret that we love a good ol' portion of fish and chips here in Lancashire. And the traditional meal tastes even better when it is served at the seaside.
And now, if you've ever dreamed of waking up to the smell of chips frying and fish batter then they're about to become reality, thank thanks to a world-first pop-up idea coming to Blackpool. The Jolly Good Fish and Chip Hotel is heading to the seaside resort this weekend only . It will see Bentley's chippy transformed into a fish and chip-themed hotel. The wacky adult-only project is the brainchild of Gala Bingo, and visitors will be able to combine the two favourite past-times and indulge in a portion of fish, chips and peas and play games of bingo.The main restaurant will serve fish and chips while a space will be turned into a makeshift double bedroom, in an open-plan studio style.
Guests are welcome to eat-in and attempt to get a full house or take their meal away to enjoy and the seafront, with the venue close to the promenade, South Pier and Blackpool Pleasure Beach. They are also free to explore the 'bedroom suite', which follows a 'five in a row' theme, and includes being able to lounge on the bed.
It is the ultimate way to experience what it would be like to spend the night in the world's fist fish and chip hotel room. The 'hotel' will be located at 131 Bond St, Blackpool FY4 1HG and will be open 12PM - 8PM.
