Xbox & Bethesda have confirmed that a joint January showcase is official. Just don't expect any news on Starfall - that's getting its own dedicated event.
However, it’s already promised to hold a second Starfield-only presentation later down the line, which will focus solely on Bethesda’s new game.
All Microsoft says is, ‘To dedicate the proper amount of time for a deep dive into Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield, a standalone show is in the works.’
