This story has been updated to reflect that Aaron Judge no longer plans to travel to San Diego.manager Aaron Boone acknowledged the awkwardness hovering over the franchise this offseason. Boone has mentioned on numerous occasions how much he cherishes his personal and professional bond with American League MVP Aaron Judge. But he still has no idea if he’ll get to continue his work relationship next season.
“I don’t feel anything. I really don’t,” Boone said when asked about his confidence in Judge returning. “I can make a case in my mind that of course he’s coming back and we’ll get there. You never know with these things. I’m trying to not allow myself to get overly optimistic or overly pessimistic on it. In the end, it’s Aaron and his family and Hal and Brian obviously negotiating and we’ll see where it ends up.
