In season 5, Josh Lucas, who plays a younger version of Kevin Costner's John Dutton, is heading back to the ranch for the first time since 2019.
He'll be joined by other returning cast members, Kylie Rogers and Kyle Red Silverstein , who were last seen on the show in 2020.As for the prequel, Paramount+ has not divulged many details, saying:"The next story will introduce a new generation of the Dutton family and explore the early 20th century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home.
