Brandon Love as been targeted twice in the town centre by gangs of teenagers, the first time he was beaten on the street then verbally abused for being autistic earlier this month.
A man with autism has been left too scared to walk through Cumbernauld town centre after he was attacked twice in the same area.
The 20-year-old was struck in the face by an apple before he was hit with an onslaught of verbal abuse. "They started shouting at me and I knew where it was going. They asked for a shot of my hat and I told them not to touch me. "One of them was thrown off my face and they started laughing at me. They then broke a toy bus for kids and tried to smash the windows.
"They were spitting on me. So I explained that I had a disability hoping they would stop but that made it worse. They called me a m**** and a r***** and threatened to jump on my skull.The incident left the young man shaken. He doesn't understand why some find joy abusing complete strangers.He said: "I was so angry. I wanted to run away and get help but I just sat there and took it.
The incident was reported to the police, however, Brandon has never been told of any arrests in connection with the assault."I saw a group of girls I knew from school so I waved and smiled at them.
