Donald Trump has teased a major new announcement on his site Truth Social.
In a 15-second clip, the former president told his followers that"America needs a superhero" before sharing a cartoon of himself posing like Superman outside Trump Tower. The animation showed the 76-year-old ripping his shirt open to reveal a superhero costume, six-pack abs and lasers firing out of his eyes.Last monthannounced his intention to run for the presidency again in 2024, but there is so far no further clue what the teased announcement may be.
There is speculation about what it might be, with the suggestion that he may be about to reveal his running mate or return to his previously favoured social media platform of Twitter after his account was reinstated followingTruth Social was launched last year following Mr Trump's ejection from Twitter in the wake of the January 6th storming of the Capitol in 2020.
