Visitors blasted the 'terrible' organisation
A Lincolnshire venue has apologised after visitors left a firework event disappointed due to lengthy queues and what some claimed to be a lack of organisation. The annual Autumn Lights event at the Lincolnshire Showground consisted of two firework displays, fire performers, a range of rides and a DJ.
One Facebook user wrote: "Took us an hour to get in from Ermine East. It was a night of queuing to get in, then queuing for food, then queuing to get out for underwhelming fireworks, we won’t be going again."Another user said: "We have been the last couple of years and I feel that this year was over sold. We missed the entertainment as we were stuck on the A15, the queue was nuts. The queues for rides and food were immense. It was great the last couple of years.
A spokesperson for the Lincolnshire Showground said: "Lincolnshire Showground were delighted to welcome back the Autumn Lights this year, which is organised by a third-party company - Events by Cynosure. Overall, we have received some very positive feedback with how impressive the fireworks were at the event.
"Despite this being a third-party event, Lincolnshire Showground would like to apologise for the delays in leaving our site. After speaking to the organisers, it was believed that due to 9,000 visitors wishing to leave all at once, unlike previous years where it had been a more staggered departure, this resulted in some delays in exiting.
