Christmas cards of stunning winter scenes in Yorkshire
We dream of a white Christmas – but perhaps like it best on a Christmas card? Charlotte Gale has her camera poised at the first flurries to capture Yorkshire's snowy scapes.Charlotte Gale’s work means she is in Christmas mood all the year round. As a photographer she creates gorgeous Yorkshire scenes that grace Christmas cards.
She’s also, a festive elf of sorts too in her local community. As a member of the Knaresborough Chamber of Commerce she’s hands-on when it comes to organising the two-day Christmas Market, which brings nearly 20,000 visitors to the town. Planning for these usually starts in April, so Christmas does indeed start early for this festive-loving photographer.During the Covid lockdown Charlotte's on-line sales markedly increased as people started sending more to keep up their spirits.
She was looking for a new start after an eventful six months solo backpacking round the world, which saw her embracing environmental projects along the way, and finding herself in ‘a few dicey situations’, the most scary being under fire in riots in Peru, when indigenous workers were in conflict with foreign oil companies.
‘It was wonderful to be able to give expression to my feelings and for the opportunity to be flexible and creative, albeit within the constraints of the brief.’
