What an amazing gesture! 🙌
Paul Heaton, the ex-lead singer of The Beautiful South, has put money behind five Glasgow pubs to ensure that TRNSMT goers can have a drink on him before he performs on stage today.
The Houesmartins founding member decided to cough up the cash during what he described as the "the cost of greed crisis". The music legend will be just one of the big names wowing crowds during the festivals first day at Glasgow Green, with Pulp, The View and George Ezra. Paul Heaton's official account posted on Twitter: "Glasgow, as a thank you, and a small amount of help during the cost of greed crisis, Paul is leaving some money behind the bar at a few local pubs near to TRNSMT festival so that some of you can have a drink on him tomorrow afternoon ."The pubs involved will be 226 Gallowgate , The Old Burnt Barns, Lynch's Bar , The Braemar Bar , The Tollbooth Bar and Whistler on the Green .
This isn't the first time the beloved singer has made such a gesture. For his 60th birthday last May, Paul put £1000 behind 1000 pubs across the UK to ensure fans could celebrate with him.
