A major road in Manchester city centre has been sealed off by police this afternoon following a serious crash.
Oxford Street is currently closed in both directions due to the collision between Whitworth Street and Portland Street, which traffic being diverted away from the area. Pictures from the scene show a bus inside the police cordon which has been badly damaged, as glass can be seen sprayed across the road.No further details about the nature of the crash have been released at this stage. Greater Manchester Police have been approached for more information.
Transport for Greater Manchester said in a tweet: "Due to an incident at Whitworth Street / Oxford Street, City Centre, bus services are diverted. Buses will divert via Princess Street / Charles Street in both directions."
